Girls Scouts, Goofing Off and Pool Posers

I just thought I'd update the blog with a few photos I've taken lately. First, here are a couple from Brooklyn's last girl scout meeting. She joined a well established awesome troop. We are so lucky that we came across this one. The leader was wonderful and devoted so much time and energy to the girls. She went on three camping trips, two of them Holly joined her, she got to ride horses, do a beach clean up, participate in the flag ceremony for her school programs and made some very good friends that we are so sad to leave. So here is a slide show of some of her activities.

Ayden loves to play in our room. One day Bobby came in and found him on our bed in 'daddy fashion' with the game controller and all. It was too cute. He also like to show off his belly button, play in baskets and try on hats. I guess the world is so interesting when you haven't even been around for two years. Now if we could just get him to talk!

Bobby invited a friend to the pool today. Now, I haven't been able to convince him to go swimming in over two years but, oh well... at least he wanted to go. Since I have no maternity bathing suit I stayed out and took pictures, until it got to hot that is. Ayden loved it at first then decided he wanted to run back and forth putting leaves in the pool. With bees everywhere though I decided that wasn't a good idea so I took him home early. I got a few shots though before I left.

Forget instruction manuals, I want a needs menu

For those of you that have never heard of or played Sims - this is the Needs Menu or Needs bars. In this game it tells you when your little computer generated person has needs, then you take care of them. Green is good, yellow is getting bad, orange they are about to freak out and red can be terminal or embarrassing, depending on the need. I've always heard people say they wish their children came with instruction manuals. Forget that, that takes the fun out of getting to know my child. I would, however, really like these little bars to float above their heads. It would make potty training a breeze, you'd know exactly the best time to nap them and put them to bed and when to feed them before they flipped out. Yup - I need a kid with a needs bar. That's all I wanted to say.

Craig's List Rocks!

I've heard a lot about Craig's list but we've never even visited the site. We really wanted to sell Bobby's car to help with out with the move. The car probably wouldn't have made it all the way to VA anyway. He's asked around but not much luck so he decided to put it on Craig's List tonight. Not even ten minuets after we posted we got our first call. Five minutes later, another call, one hour later, the car is sold. Now we have the amusing dilemma of what to do to get Bobby to work. I guess that's a good thing though especially now that we found out our stimulus check is being mailed not deposited. We have no idea why and we really needed that money but oh well, the car is sold and now we'll have the money we need for the move.

The flu, a busy week and Gatorade

It started on mother's day, of course. I wasn't feeling well so I stayed home from church - again. Then it hit like NFL linebacker at two in the morning. I had some kind of stomach flu. It wasn't pretty and I will not go into details. We've all had it and know what it is. I am out of sick days too so I wasn't too happy that I had to miss two days of work. Considering I could barely walk from the bed to my bathroom though, work was out of the question. Bobby took very good care of my and made everyone leave me alone and after sleeping for two days I was better. It is still lingering but I'm better. Now Bobby has it. I guess I should be happy it isn't one of the kids but honestly it would be easier if it were a kid. Bobby gets extremely ill with this kind of stuff because of his diabetes and he's out of service for who knows how long. Poor Bobby.

This time of year is just not a good time to be sick though. It seems like at the end of the school year there is something going on every night. I missed a baby shower this week, the kids had a birthday party, Brooklyn had a girl scout meeting and an activity on Saturday and I'm wiped out thinking that next week is really no different.

I did figure out though that Adyen loves grape Gatorade. (Yes, I dilute it) He was out of juice and had already had a bunch of milk so I gave him some and now he wants it every time I go to the fridge. Obviously, with two stomach bugs, we are keeping the house stocked with the stuff. The bad thing is, all the business usually halts as soon as schools out and it's only going to get worse b/c we'll be packing and getting ready to move. Oh, I am so going to need a vacation after this - as if.

Happy Birthday to me! Happy Mother's Day!

On my birthday we drove down to Bay City to visit GG and PapaG. The whole family was there, minus Andy and Tammy. I guess Colorado is kind of far for a day trip. Anyway we had chili, chicken salad, jello and cupcakes. It was such a nice visit and probably the last time we'll get down there before we move to VA. The children enjoyed playing outside and Grana seemed to enjoy watching them play. In the picture of me - that is not my hairy arm! That is Brian's hairy leg - LOL. It was the only one of me though. The one of Ayden with the trash can isn't on my birthday or mother's day but he was throwing his cars in the trash then fishing them out and having so much fun I had to get a photo.

Another Tag

Why? Because Bobby has a new video game so I can't watch TV and I feel too sick to do anything really productive.

Old Picture of me:
The friend that tagged me - well she tagged everyone but named us, added the picture idea. I thought it was funny. This is such a classic 80's shot I had to use it. I'm in front in the read bow tie shirt. Oh wait! That's no shirt, it's a leotard! I kid you not. I was wearing pants though. That's my sister behind me. I'm sure she'd be thrilled to see this photo here.
What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was living and teaching in New Braunfels, TX. I was newly married to my first husband and we were expecting our first daughter, Brooklyn. Yeah, not too exciting huh? New Braunfels is gorgeous though and I'd live there again in a heartbeat.

Five things on my list of things to do today.
My day is over so call me done. I guess #5 would be go to bed early. Like I ever do that.

Things I would do if I were suddenly a billionaire
Buy a home. Pay off my dad's so he could retire. Go on a really nice family vacation then drop the kids at Grandma's with some money and go on a honeymoon with my sweetie. We never did have one. Create a college fund for each kid. With five that might wipe me out right there! JK . Bobby could go to college for another ten years for all I care. Live off savings and investments.

Two bad habits:
I over think ( I just put that one, is that cheating?)
I'm nosy. I like to call it curious.

Five places I have lived:
1. Houston, TX
2. Boise, ID (I think. We moved somewhere like that when I was a baby and moved back to Houston when I was two)
3. Katy, TX
4. Austin, TX
5. New Braunfels, TX
See a trend there?

Five jobs I have had:
1. Sam Goody music store cashier
2. washed hair at Visible Change Salon (for two weeks)
3. Worked for Coach House Gifts in the Halloween kiosk until I quit b/c of too many hours
4. Nanny to a sweet little boy
5. Teacher - I'm kind of stuck here

Five things people don't know about me:
Hmm... which five am I willing to tell?
1. I sing very loudly around my house all the time.
2. I used to dance pretty well, I think.
3. I hate to cry but when I want to cry I put in a good movie - like Beaches or Steel Magnolias
4. I hate to be touched, if I don't hug you don't take it personally. I'm not a hugger.
5. I like to be spoiled and taken care of. Silly me married someone just like me but he does pretty darn good.
Man I'm boring.
